Today it is used extensively throughout Europe, primarily for external applications such as cladding and decking, and for other uses including flooring and Olympic velodrome tracks.

Due to its high strength and durability bangikirai wood is used for heavy construction under roof as well as in the open, such as bridges, railway sleepers, electric poles, flooring, marine construction, boat building, vehicular bodywork and housing.

Kempas
Kempas has a medium to coarse texture. The grain is interlocked and sometimes wavy. The wood can also have streaks of brittle tissue that can be a source of mechanical weakness. Rot Resistance: Heartwood is rated as moderately durable to durable regarding decay resistance.

Merbau is a popular hardwood derived largely from areas in South East Asia, Papua New Guinea, the Pacific islands, and northern Queensland. With its high degree of natural durability and strength it is used externally in engineering, construction and marine applications.
